2. What data we process

2.1 Server log files (hosting)

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (44 Montgomery Street, Suite 300, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA). When you visit a page, Netlify automatically processes:

  • IP address (truncated/anonymised)
  • Date and time of access
  • Requested URL and HTTP status code
  • User-agent (browser, operating system)
  • Referrer URL

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in technically error-free provision and IT security). Netlify is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision under Art. 45 GDPR). Privacy policy: www.netlify.com/privacy/.

2.2 Cookies and tracking

This website does not set any cookies. There is no tracking, audience measurement or profiling.

2.3 Booking enquiries and reservations

We do not offer our own booking form on this website. Bookings are made via external platforms:

  • Airbnb (Airbnb Ireland UC, Watermarque Building, South Lotts Road, Ringsend, Dublin 4, Ireland)
  • Booking.com (Booking.com B.V., Herengracht 597, 1017 CE Amsterdam, the Netherlands)

These platforms are independent controllers for the data they collect. Please read their privacy policies before booking. The booking data they pass to us (name, email, dates) is used solely to fulfil the contract (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and to comply with statutory retention obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR; Austrian Commercial Code, 7 years).

2.4 Direct email contact

If you contact us by email or phone, your details will only be used to handle your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We do not pass them to third parties unless necessary for performing the contract (e.g. our cleaning partners).

2.5 Guest registration form (Meldezettel)

During your stay we are legally required to register guests with the local municipality (Meldegesetz). The data collected includes: full name, date of birth, nationality, travel document number, home address, dates of arrival and departure. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with the Austrian Reporting Act.

3. Embedded third-party services

When you load our pages, content from these third parties is loaded; this may transmit your IP address to them:

3.1 Google Fonts

We use fonts from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Loading a page transmits your IP address to Google. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. policies.google.com/privacy.

3.2 Tailwind CSS (CDN)

We load Tailwind CSS from cdn.tailwindcss.com (Cloudflare). Your IP is transmitted to Cloudflare, Inc. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

3.3 Unsplash images

Some atmospheric photos are served via Unsplash (Unsplash Inc., 400-460 Sainte-Catherine West, Montréal, Canada). Your IP is transmitted to Unsplash. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. unsplash.com/privacy.

4. Retention period

Server log files are typically deleted automatically after 30 days. Booking data and correspondence are retained for 7 years after the end of the contract (Austrian Commercial Code §190 / Federal Tax Code §132). Meldezettel data is retained per local rules.

5. Recipients of data

We share data only when necessary for performing the contract or legally required:

  • Municipality of Grünau im Almtal (Meldezettel — legally mandated)
  • Tax accountant (bookkeeping — Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR)
  • Email and hosting providers (data processors under Art. 28 GDPR)
  • Cleaning partners (booking dates only, no birthdate/passport)

You have the following rights at any time:

  • Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) — subject to statutory retention obligations
  • Right to restrict processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
